Off the track patrons can win a $5000 travel voucher as a lucky gate prize and they will be entertained throughout the night by highly acclaimed “Elvis” Rick Charles.

Racing commences at 6:10pm with the AGL Energy Tabcorp Park Menangle Heat. Cherry Mahoney is the most credentialed runner having raced in several feature races as a 2yo & 3yo but after drawing barrier 10 her job to win becomes harder. Abercrombie Tab has raced consistently of late and has drawn the number one. Local pacers Blake On Fire (Kevin Medlyn) and Miss Sporty Tara (Craig Rusten) will both give the Parkes supporters a great chance.

Parkes Farm Centre Pace will be race 2 and the main chances look to be Karinya Mully, Its Wellsaid, and Barlor Troubador.

Another heat of the AGL Energy Tabcorp Park Menangle Series will be race 3 and a very strong field will face the starter with many winning chances. Uncle Peter a last start Bathurst winner has had luck with the drawn and from barrier one will take some catching. However Abercrombie Alice, Lucy Lamb, Classy Package, & Power Of Red will all be testing him to gain a place in the final.

The main race of the night will be the Elvis Series Final for horses, which qualified at Parkes on December 28, 2016. Greengold was ultra impressive in his heat and has won at his last 4 starts. Throw in the fact that he has leading reinswoman Amanda Turnbull driving and he looks to be almost unbeatable. Stellagrey, Brenroy Jokajo, and Marys Little Rose look to be the main trifecta runners.

Race 5 The Parkes Phoenix 3YO Pace is shaping to be the most interesting race of the night with almost all runners having serious winning hopes. Nota Bad Move and Express Bomber look to be the two horses that will start favorites but the local owners and trainers have a strong hand and will be hard to beat with Magic Artist (Troy Peters), Outta Crossgar (David Harris), and Flight Dictator (Steve Dowton).

K & H Haulage Pace Race 6 is for the faster class pacers and it has drawn together a very even field with all 9 horses having winning chances. There is a strong representation from the Turnbull stables and they always prove hard to beat on the Parkes circuit. The Terry Powter trained Go Scotty will have strong local support.

Race 7 is the Betta Home Living Parkes Pace and The Oriflamme will probably start favourite in a field again with several winning chances. Local pacers Double Standards (Kasey Hocking), Michaela Jay (Tom Ward), and Bullion Hall (Kevin Medlyn) are all capable of running good races with some luck in running.

The meeting concludes at 9.40pm with the Parkes Furniture One Pace. Raksmach ran a good second at his last start and has drawn barrier two and Amanda Turnbull to help his chances. Star Play, Pom Pay, and Kimsarme Direct all have winning chances.

The gates will be opened at 5pm so patrons can get to the Paceway early and secure a good spot.

For $10 you can witness great harness racing, be entertained by Rick Charles, and have a chance to win a $5000 travel voucher.
