Last Saturday, the 24th of June, the Parkes Harness Racing Club (PHRC) organized a get together function for Parkes Harness locals Big Terry (Terry Powter), and Little Terrie (Terrie Prior), and Jess Prior as they moved from Parkes to Wagga Wagga.
Big Terry has lived all his life in Parkes, while Little Terrie has been in Parkes for about 31 years. Jessie who recently just moved back to Parkes will be joining the duo as they moved to Wagga.
Big Terry and Little Terrie are both actively involved in harness racing industry as trainers, while Jessie drives for them. Two of their horses (that I know!) are Mod Conns and Go Scotty.
11 years ago, they decided to sell their property where they run the Clearview Harness Racing Stables. It took time, but this year, Parkes council made an offer.
For the past few months, their horses had starts in Wagga Wagga, so it was no big surprise when they decided to move there.
Moving to Wagga is not the end of their involvement in harness racing industry as they are still going to train horses.
